Our cottage and the local area.

Here we present our two bed holiday cottage which sleeps 4 people (travel cot available for a smaller extra guest). We welcome up to three dogs and have a large secure private garden, raised terrace area and parking available.click here

Stony Broke Cottage is situated in the small village of Ainthorpe near Danby on the North York Moors. It is within the North York Moors National Park which is named as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).  We have some of the most breathtaking scenery and fantastic coastline.

There are two public houses, a bakery/cafe and a health shop within walking distance of the cottage.  There are also other public houses, a post office/tea room, a hairdressers and a local Co-op supermarket in the next village, Castleton, only 1.5 miles away. Danby train station is also within walking distance where you can pick up the Middlesbrough to Whitby line.

The North York Moors National Park Centre is a 10 minute walk away and has a wealth of tourist information and also houses a cafe, an art gallery, and indoor and outdoor children’s play areas.

In the summer, the Moorsbus runs to nearby towns and villages including Helmsley within the National Park.  Whitby is 16 miles away and the bustling market town of Guisborough is 11 miles away.  The fishing village of Staithes and the Victorian coastal town of Saltburn are approximately 11 miles away and both of which have child/dog friendly beaches.

On the doorstep of Stony Broke Cottage, there are several picturesque walks to take and the cottage is close enough to pick up The Cleveland Way route.
